Saddle ------ written to Tangja Leker Museum*
Whose saddle is it Why its silence let a nation worshiping freedom feel sad ! It is so quiet and peaceful The voiceless wait has changed into eternity as if hoofbeat has also solidified into stone This is a witness to love Its honest owner, on horseback ran past men and women and the happiest years in this world It is still calling , because it is convinced that the rider will come back with flying colors sooner or later It is heavy, as the herdsman’ sigh To gain human dignity and equality a soul worshiping freedom sometimes has to choose death _________________________________________________ *Tangja Leker ----- a well-known Kazak modern Chinese poet, who was once imprisoned by Kuomintang reactionaries and died of illness in 1947.
